Transition to WesFiles
Oct 23rd, 2007 by jwest
ITS has written a script to automate moving files from Dragon and condor into a user’s space on WesFiles. Desktop Support Specialists or Academic Computing Managers will run the script on behalf of Faculty and Staff.
Students’ files will be moved from Dragon and condor to WesFiles over Winter Break. There will be no action necessary on their part. After the move, students can log into WesFiles and modify the permissions on their web and other files. Please see the posts about condor and Dragon for more information.

What about graduate students? Will our files be moved, and if so, when? Or do we need to run the script?
We do not currently have a plan to move grad students as a group, but envision rather that we will move you–like faculty–individually. If you have started to use WesFiles on your own and would like us to run the migration script for you, please contact me or your academic computing manager. We are doing the migrations individually to insure that all individual needs are taken into consideration.
